Telluride Jam Company is the passion project of Dave and Ann Schlegel.  In the beginning, the idea of making jam to share with connoisseurs everywhere was not part of a grand plan.  Instead, this beautiful vision grew out of resilience in the face of tragedy.
 

Ann grew up in a blue-collar Colorado town with a desire to be a big city glam gal who would shake the dust of Southern Colorado off her feet. Being in the kitchen was not her jam.

Dave grew up in the fast lane of the big city, spending his summers working on the 100-year-old family farm. His grandparents instilled in him the old ways and traditions, with a strong emphasis on hard work and the importance of independence.
 

When Ann experienced an auto accident leaving her with a traumatic brain injury from which she was not expected to recover, their life took a turn stranger than fiction.
 

Seeking ways to help Ann find value and engagement in life, Dave encouraged her to plant a garden. That garden turned into a satisfying yield and left them with an abundance of crops.  That fateful summer Ann inquired, "What do we do with all of this?", to which pragmatic Dave replied; "We put up the harvest." The rest is history. That golden late summer day in a steaming kitchen, Ann & Dave labored and a creative culinary love for food pairing was born in Ann.

Through recipe development and researching techniques, Ann's healing journey began.
 

Dave & Ann relocated to the Telluride region over 15 years ago, and since then, they have been fostering relationships with local farmers.  This is a never-ending journey of visiting orchards, identifying intricacies of sugar content, noting differences between early and late season harvests, and varying flavor profiles, Dave & Ann of Telluride Jams source the best local yields while supporting local Colorado growers.
 

Nearly twenty years since the first batch of jelly lined their pantry shelves, true passion for creating unique, small batch, boutique products is the heart of Telluride Jam Company today.
